Optimizing Existing Resources in Kathua
Furthering its commitment to industrial advancement, the AC has also authorized the utilization of un-allottable land patches at the Industrial Estate in Bhagthali, Kathua. This decision aligns with the J&K Industrial Land Allotment Policy 2021-30, facilitating the optimal use of land resources previously reserved for large investment projects. This adjustment enables the allotment of land patches under 200 Kanals, enhancing the industrial estate’s functionality and paving the way for diverse industrial activities.
Pioneering Tourism with a World-Class Amusement Park
In another significant development, the AC has approved the establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the development of a state-of-the-art Theme/Amusement Park at Tattoo Ground, Srinagar. Spanning 139.04 acres, this ambitious project is set to transform the region into a premier tourist destination.
The UT Government’s collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs aims to leverage J&K’s tourism potential by attracting global visitors, boosting local revenue, and creating myriad employment opportunities. The theme park will feature hotels, hospitality services, rides, indoor attractions, retail, and commercial spaces, as well as film facilities and food and beverage sectors, all contributing to substantial job creation.
Empowering Energy Infrastructure with Kiru Hydroelectric Project
The Administrative Council has also greenlit a 40-year lease with mortgage rights for 1750 Kanals 17 Marlas of land in Kishtwar’s Nagseni District for the Kiru Hydroelectric Project. Managed by Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL), this project is a joint venture between NHPC Limited and JKSPDC, with an estimated cost of Rs. 4288 crores.
Scheduled for completion by March 2026, the Kiru Hydroelectric Project is poised to generate 2272.02 million units of energy annually, significantly addressing the power needs of Jammu and Kashmir. The approval includes provisions for securing commercial loans essential for the project’s progress, ensuring a steady flow of resources for its timely completion.
The series of decisions by the Administrative Council mark a pivotal moment for Jammu and Kashmir, laying the foundation for a robust industrial and tourism infrastructure. These initiatives promise to usher in an era of unprecedented economic growth, enhanced employment opportunities, and improved quality of life for the residents of J&K. The meticulous planning and strategic execution of these projects reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to the region’s comprehensive development and prosperity.
