Kohli And Pant To Join Delhi Squad For Vijay Hazare Trophy As Probables List Announced
Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant will join the Delhi squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy after the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) announced its list of probable players for the domestic one-day tournament.
Kohli’s availability—confirmed earlier this month—and Pant’s inclusion are expected to add significant depth and experience to Delhi’s batting line-up, especially with the BCCI mandating that contracted India players participate in domestic cricket when not engaged in international fixtures.
Delhi will open its Elite Group D campaign with matches against Andhra and Gujarat at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the home venue of Kohli’s IPL side, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The remaining five league games will be played at the Alur Cricket Ground on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
Kohli will enter the tournament after being named Player of the Series in India’s 2-1 ODI victory over South Africa. Pant, meanwhile, will be eager for game time after not featuring in the recent ODI series against the Proteas. Both players will remain available until India’s ODI series against New Zealand begins from January 11–17, 2026.
The list of probables was finalised during a meeting of the senior men’s selection panel, comprising selectors Yashpal Singh, K. Bhaskar Pillai and Manu Nayar, along with head coach Sarandeep Singh, CAC Chairman Vijay Dahiya and DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma. The list includes players who featured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where Nitish Rana-led Delhi failed to qualify for the knockouts after finishing third in Group D with 16 points.
A further list of 50 probables has also been announced. They are: Dev Lakra, Divij Mehra, Yugal Saini, Sujal Singh, Rajneesh Dadar, Aman Bharti, Govind Mittal, Sumit Beniwal, Shubham Dubey, Keshav Dabas, Rahul Choudhary, Samarth Seth, Shivam Tripathi, Anmol Sharma, Shivam Gupta, Lakshay Thareja, Manan Bhardwaj, Rounak Waghela, Mayank Gussain, Keshav R Singh, Laxman, Divansh Rawat, Pranav Rajvanshi, Pranshu Vijayran, Siddhant Sharma, Gagan Vats, Vansh Bedi, Rahul Gahlot, Vishal Rai, Samarth Singh, Sanat Sangwan, Aayush Singh, Sumit Mathur, Sampooran Tripathi, Vivek Tiwari, Hrithik Shokeen, Tejas Baroka, Saksham Sharma, Dev Dubey, Shivam Sharma, Rohit Yadav, Anirudh Choudhary, Vishant Bhati, Pranav Pant, Pankaj Jaswal, Ajay Guliya, Siddhant Bansal, Vikas Solanki, Divij Prakash and Suryakant Chauhan.
