Kishtwar Crackdown: Police Seize Heroin and Cash, Arrest Three Drug Peddlers.

In a swift and decisive operation, the Kishtwar Police have dealt a significant blow to the drug trade plaguing the region, arresting three individuals involved in peddling narcotics. Acting on intelligence, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and SHO Police Station Kishtwar conducted a targeted raid in the Guildhal area of Kishtwar town.
During the operation, two suspects, identified as Sonam Angyal from Padder and Sujal Kumar Shan from Dool, both currently residing in Brahman Mohalla, Kishtwar, were apprehended. A thorough search of their persons led to the discovery of approximately 18 grams of heroin, along with a substantial sum of Rs 23,000 in cash. Additionally, law enforcement recovered a digital electronic weighing machine and aluminum foil, indicative of the drug packaging process.
However, the crackdown didn’t stop there. In a separate incident, a patrolling party from the Kishtwar Police Station intercepted another individual, Vikas Sharma, also known as Rohit, a resident of Udhampur currently residing in Akhyarabab Kishtwar. Upon searching him, authorities found 5.5 grams of heroin-like substance in his possession.
These successful operations resulted in the registration of two separate cases under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at the Police Station Kishtwar. Speaking on the matter, SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, emphasized the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to root out the drug menace from society.
