Jammu : In a powerful display of resolve, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Jammu-Kathua-Samba range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, has declared that Jammu and Kashmir’s security forces, including the police and army, are resolute in thwarting every attempt by adversaries to disrupt the region’s peace. The enemy, he stated, is relentlessly working to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir, but the forces remain unfaltering in their commitment to counter these nefarious designs.
During a statement on Saturday, DIG Sharma highlighted the persistent threats from neighboring forces attempting to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir. “The enemy nation,” he asserted, in a clear reference to Pakistan without explicitly naming it, “is exploring every means to disturb the tranquility of J&K.” Referring to recent incidents across the Jammu region where terrorists made attempts to resurface, he reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with other security agencies, are unwavering in their commitment to defeat these designs with full force.
“Our message is clear,” DIG Sharma declared firmly. “Any infiltrator who sets foot on the soil of Jammu and Kashmir will be sent back dead. Our forces are on high alert to intercept and neutralize any infiltration attempts, no matter the cost.” Emphasizing the dedication of the forces, he added, “Our officers and jawans are making the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the safety of our nation, and our fight against terrorism will persist with undeterred resolve.”
The DIG’s remarks come in the wake of disturbing incidents like the recent attack in Gagangir, Ganderbal, where terrorists brutally killed seven construction laborers, including a local doctor, causing widespread shock and fear among those involved in national projects in the region. Addressing this tragic incident, DIG Sharma revealed that intensive, high-level meetings have been convened with the heads of national projects to bolster security and assure the well-being of the workforce. “We have held, and will continue to hold, one-to-one meetings with relevant agencies to reinforce safety protocols,” Sharma explained, underscoring the commitment to protecting every individual involved in these national undertakings.
The recent targeted killing of two Village Defense Guard (VDG) members in Kishtwar district has further heightened security concerns. Speaking on the matter, DIG Sharma observed that terrorists are desperate to assert their presence through such sporadic acts of violence. However, he affirmed that the forces, along with the vigilant public, are fully aware of these ploys. Commending the public’s role in maintaining security, he added, “The community has been cooperating effectively by sharing information on suspicious activities in their areas. I urge them to continue reporting any such observations directly to the police and security forces. I assure them that their identity will remain confidential.”
With these reassurances from DIG Sharma, the public has been reminded of the vigilance and readiness of Jammu and Kashmir’s security apparatus. From strategic meetings to on-the-ground readiness, the message is clear: Jammu and Kashmir will not be shaken. The commitment of the forces, combined with public cooperation, continues to stand as a formidable bulwark against any threat to the region’s peace and safety.
