J&K Police Kathua Seizes Property Worth ₹1.08 Crore of Drug Peddlers in Anti Narcotics Crackdown

KATHUA : In a significant action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua district have attached properties valued at ₹1.08 crore belonging to three individuals involved in drug peddling. The properties, located in the Maggar Khad area of Lakhanpur, were identified as assets acquired through proceeds of narcotic trafficking.
The operation was spearheaded by Inspector Rajeshwar Slathia, SHO PS Rajbagh, under the guidance of SDPO Border, Dheeraj Singh Katoch, and the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saksena (IPS). The investigation linked the assets to illicit narcotics trade, leading to the attachment under Sections 68F and 68E of the NDPS Act.
The properties attached include:
1.Raj Wali alias Sher Ali (S/O Sattar Din, Jagatpur Maggar Khad, Lakhanpur): A house valued at ₹31.10 lakh.
2.Bagh Hussain (S/O Lal Hussain, Maggar Khad, Lakhanpur): A house valued at ₹47.73 lakh.
3.Bagh Hussain (S/O Mir Ali, Maggar Khad, Lakhanpur): A house valued at ₹29.34 lakh.
The properties were frozen as part of the ongoing investigation into FIR No. 30/2023, which is registered under Sections 8, 21, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Under Sections 68F and 68E of the NDPS Act, properties derived from or involved in the illicit trafficking of drugs can be attached and confiscated by authorities. This measure is aimed at crippling the financial network of drug traffickers and deterring such activities.
