SRINAGAR :Director Information J&K, Jatin Kishore, chaired a pivotal meeting to ensure the seamless arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 and review the implementation of the J&K Film Policy 2024. The meeting saw the participation of several key officials, including Joint Director Information (Hqs) Vivek Puri, Joint Director Information Jammu Atul Gupta, Joint Director Information Kashmir Mohammad Aslam Khan, Deputy Director (AV) Deepak Dubey, Deputy Director (PR) Jammu/Kashmir, Nodal Officer J&K Film Policy Maheer Thakur, Accounts Officer Directorate Hitesh Choudhary, and all District Information Officers and other concerned officials.
Jatin Kishore solicited feedback from all District Information Officers about the preparations for the upcoming Yatra. Discussions included the availability of manpower, staff, machinery, and other essential equipment at various key locations along the Yatra route. Several officers reported a need for more personnel to manage the influx of pilgrims and ensure smooth operations. Concerns were raised about the adequacy and functionality of public announcement systems crucial for managing large crowds, and there were discussions on procuring suitable transportation services for moving both men and machinery efficiently. The Director emphasized placing welcome hoardings at strategic points along the route and focused on placing signages to assist and guide devotees throughout their journey.
In addition to the Yatra arrangements, Jatin Kishore conducted a thorough review of the J&K Film Policy 2024, which aims to streamline the process of issuing film permissions and provide robust support to filmmakers and producers. He underscored the importance of the film policy as a government priority, highlighting its potential to boost the local economy and cultural heritage. The Director stressed the need for special attention to the policy’s implementation, particularly the timely processing of shooting permissions, and emphasized providing comprehensive support to filmmakers, from logistical assistance to streamlined administrative processes.
The meeting concluded with a reiteration of the government’s commitment to both the successful management of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 and the development of the film industry in Jammu and Kashmir. Jatin Kishoreโs directives aim to ensure that the Yatra is conducted smoothly, providing a safe and enriching experience for the pilgrims, while also fostering a conducive environment for filmmakers under the J&K Film Policy 2024.
