Jammu: In a bold and meticulously planned operation, Jammu Police tightened its grip on crime in the region by apprehending one of the most notorious criminals, Lyiqat Ali alias Bulla. The 33-year-old, son of Alif Din and a resident of RS Pura, Jammu, who was temporarily residing in Belicharana, Jammu, was taken into custody by a vigilant police team from Police Station Kanachak.

Lyiqat Ali has long been a name synonymous with fear and lawlessness in the region. His arrest is linked to Case FIR No. 47/2023, involving serious charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 307 (attempt to murder), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), and 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt, or restraint in order to commit the theft).

Bulla’s criminal dossier is extensive, with his name linked to numerous illegal activities across various police stations in District Jammu. His involvement in an audacious attack on a police party in Kanachak earlier this year only cemented his status as a dangerous criminal. Moreover, his alleged participation in bovine smuggling operations has added to his infamy, making him a high-priority target for law enforcement agencies.

The arrest of Lyiqat Ali marks a significant victory for Jammu Police, reflecting their unwavering commitment to restoring law and order in the region. The police’s swift action in nabbing such a feared criminal is being hailed as a major breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown on crime.
