JAMMU: In a major breakthrough, Jammu Police have successfully cracked four significant theft cases, leading to the arrest of multiple accused and the recovery of stolen property worth approximately ₹12 lakh. The swift and efficient action by the police not only reinforces public trust but also sends a strong message against criminal activities.
The operation was conducted under the close supervision of SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh (JKPS), SP Rural Brijesh Sharma-JKPS, SDPO Domana Mudassir Ahmed and SHO Kanachak, Manoj Dhar playing a key role in ensuring the safety and security of the people of the region. Telecom Equipment Theft Case Solved:
In a significant achievement, the police successfully cracked a telecom equipment theft case at an Indus Towers Ltd. site in Chak Jaffer, Jammu. The swift action led to the arrest of two accused, Mohd Arif Raina and Uttam Kumar, under Case FIR No. 176/2024 U/S 303(2) BNS of PS Kanachak.
• The stolen telecom equipment, including an RRU (Remote Radio Unit), was recovered from Gharota.
• Investigations reveal that this gang is involved in multiple telecom thefts across District Jammu, and further recoveries are expected.
• Uttam Kumar is a habitual offender, previously involved in a similar telecom theft case in Gujarat.
₹7 Lakh Jewellery Theft Case Solved: Juvenile Gang Busted
In another breakthrough, police solved a high-value jewellery theft case in Mishriwala, where three juveniles, including a 13-year-old minor, were found involved in stealing approximately 10 tolas of gold ornaments worth ₹7 lakh.
• The stolen jewellery was sold to a goldsmith in Deheran Khour.
• The police successfully recovered cash worth ₹6 lakh and a golden ‘Tikka’ from the goldsmith and the juveniles.
• All three juveniles were taken into protective custody, while the goldsmith was arrested under Case FIR No. 13/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS of PS Kanachak.
• This marks a significant success in tackling organized theft crimes involving minors.
Swift Recovery of Stolen Calf in Purkhoo:
In a rather unique case, Jammu Police promptly solved the theft of a cow’s calf in Purkhoo. Following a complaint by Anita Sharma, officers arrested Rohit Kumar and Shamsher Singh alias Pippy under FIR No. 26/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS of PS Kanachak.
• The stolen calf was successfully recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
• This quick response by the police underscores their dedication to even the most localized crimes affecting common citizens.
Cattle-Lifting Gang Busted in Akhnoor:
In another major success, Jammu Police busted an active cattle-lifting gang in the Akhnoor area.
• Two accused were arrested, leading to the recovery of one buffalo and a horse based on their disclosure.
• This gang was notorious for cattle thefts in Akhnoor and Gharota, and further recoveries are expected in the coming days.
