Inter State Drug Peddler Arrested by Miran Sahib Police along with Half Kg Heroin.

Jammu: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under Operation *SANJEEVANI*, the Jammu Police have achieved significant success by recovering half a kilogram of heroin (Chitta), worth several lakhs, from an interstate drug peddler in the Kotli Mian Fateh area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib.
A police team from Police Station Miran Sahib, led by SHO Bhopinder Singh , was conducting naka duty when they apprehended a suspicious individual later identified as Lal Hussain, son of Billu, resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. Upon searching the suspect, the officers recovered 500 grams of heroin from his possession.
In connection with this seizure, a case has been registered under FIR No. 60/2024 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Miran Sahib, and the accused has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on uncovering both the forward and backward linkages of the drug supply chain.
The Jammu Police are intensively working to dismantle the drug supply networks in the region. The thorough questioning of the accused aims to reveal the origins and destinations of the drug consignments. This operation is part of the broader effort by the Jammu Police to eradicate drug menace from the area, ensuring a safer environment for its residents, especially the youth.
The police have appealed to the public to come forward and share any information regarding drug peddling or consumption by calling the helpline number 100. The police have assured that the identity of the informants will be kept confidential.
Following the arrest, the police have launched a detailed investigation to trace the recipients of the consignment. The authorities have promised more arrests in the coming days based on the disclosures made by the accused. Under the supervision of SSP Jammu, the Jammu Police have reiterated their commitment to making Jammu a drug-free zone, maintaining zero tolerance towards drug sellers and addicts.
