The Department of Information & Public Relations Leh, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and District Administration Leh, continued its awareness program on ‘drugs and substance abuse’ with a session held at Delhi Public School Leh.
The event saw the participation of Psychiatrist & Drug De-Addiction Specialist Dr. Tashi Tundup from SNM Hospital Leh, Smt. Priyam Shukla, Principal of Delhi Public School Leh, and officials from the Department of Information & Public Relations Leh including Stanzin Wangmo and Sonam Youton. Faculty, staff members, students, and representatives from the Parents’ Association also attended.
Dr. Tashi Tundup delivered insights on the stages of implications and corrective measures to combat substance abuse. He emphasized the importance of staying informed and staying away from such menaces. Additionally, AE&CO, PTA President, and parents’ representative also shared their perspectives during the session.
Furthermore, students were encouraged to voice their concerns related to mental well-being and consult with Psychiatrist Dr. Tashi for support and guidance.
The event underscores the collective efforts of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, District Administration Leh, and various stakeholders in combating substance abuse and promoting mental well-being among the youth.
