Kargil: In a commendable demonstration of dedication and coordination, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO) Kargil, Shrikant Suse, meticulously inspected the arrangements for the dispatch of polling parties and the distribution of election materials ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections. This thorough inspection aimed to ensure a seamless electoral process, even in the far-flung and challenging terrains of Kargil.

Recognizing the logistical challenges posed by Kargil’s rugged landscape, helicopters have been deployed to transport polling parties to remote areas. On this note, three polling parties have successfully reached their destinations in Shadey, Ralakung, and Phema via Indian Air Force sorties. Additional sorties are scheduled for tomorrow to dispatch remaining polling parties to Zanskar and Sankoo subdivision.

DC/DEO Shrikant Suse spearheaded a crucial meeting at the Auditorium Hall in Kargil, bringing together Zonal and Sector Magistrates, as well as police officers, to fine-tune their roles and responsibilities. During his address, Suse urged the officers to take their responsibilities seriously and remain vigilant to ensure a fair and smooth electoral process. Further enhancing the administrative preparedness, DIO NIC Kargil, Iftikhar Hussain, introduced the PAMS software to Sector and Zonal Magistrates, explaining its use for efficient poll day reporting. The District Level Master Trainer also conducted a detailed orientation session on the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs).
