Hardcore Criminal Bagh Hussain Arrested by Jammu Police in Haryana; Weapon Recovered, Accused Injured in Retaliatory Fire During Recovery Operation

Jammu : In a significant success for law enforcement, Jammu Police have apprehended a notorious history-sheeter, Bagh Hussain alias Baghu alias Sunny, son of Mangat Ali, originally a resident of Laswara (Tehsil Bishnah) and currently residing near Balol Nallah, Kikri Morh, Bari Brahmana. The arrest, made in the state of Haryana, followed a sustained investigation into FIR No. 53/2025 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act, registered at Police Station Miran Sahib.
Recovery Operation and Retaliatory Fire:
Following his arrest, Bagh Hussain confessed during interrogation to having hidden a loaded pistol and an axe (kulhadi) in Banachak village, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah. A recovery operation was swiftly launched by a police team led by Inspector Jai Pal Sharma and PSI Ajesh Jamwal of PS Miran Sahib, under the close supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura, S.Gurmeet Singh, and with key operational support from SHO Bishnah Inspector Sushil Choudhary.
However, during the recovery effort, the accused attempted to snatch the service weapon of Constable Arun Sharma, resulting in a violent scuffle that left the constable injured. In the face of imminent danger and in self-defence, the police were forced to open fire, leading to injuries to the accused. Bagh Hussain was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah for treatment, where he remains under tight police custody.
A Long Trail of Criminality:
The accused has a notorious criminal past, with 27 FIRs lodged against him in various police stations across Jammu, Samba, and even Himachal Pradesh. These include eight separate cases involving attacks on police parties, the most recent being a violent assault on the Station House Officer of PS Bari Brahmana. The breadth of charges against him includes:
• Attempt to murder
• Murder
• Dacoity
• Kidnapping
• Criminal conspiracy
• Illegal arms possession
• Rioting
• Obstruction of government duties
This arrest has not only removed a dangerous individual from the streets but is also expected to provide leads into a broader criminal network operating across state borders.
