FAKE NEWS ALERT — REBUTTAL ISSUED BY JAMMU POLICE

JAMMU: It has come to the notice of the Jammu Police that certain news reports and audio clips are being circulated on WhatsApp groups, falsely claiming the presence of terrorists in the R.S. Pura area. These reports are completely unverified, lack any confirmation from ground-level checks, and have not been validated by official sources.
Public Advisory:
Residents are strongly advised not to share or forward such unverified and misleading content on social media or messaging platforms, as it can lead to unnecessary panic among the public.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity or individuals is requested to immediately report the matter to the nearest police station for prompt verification and appropriate action.
Please note that spreading false or unverified information is a punishable offence under the law.
The Jammu Police urges all citizens to act responsibly and cooperate in maintaining peace, security, and public order in the region.
