Divisional Commissioner Jammu Oversees Full Dress Rehearsal for Independence Day Celebration at MA Stadium

Jammu: The Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, inspected the full dress rehearsal for the 2024 Independence Day celebration at the MA Stadium, Jammu. The event showcased a strong display of patriotic fervor, with a parade featuring contingents from various security forces, schools, and cultural groups.
During the rehearsal, the Divisional Commissioner took the salute from an impressive March Past comprising contingents of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indian Reserve Police (IRP) Women and Men Battalions, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP), District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, and students from various educational institutions.
In his address, Ramesh Kumar extended warm Independence Day greetings to all and emphasized the importance of unity, diversity, and integrity in the nation. He called on everyone to pledge their commitment to safeguarding these values.
The parade also featured performances by pipe and brass bands from the Border Security Force (BSF), JKAP, and school students, adding to the grandeur of the event. A colorful cultural program was presented by school children and artists from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, depicting themes of national unity, integration, and patriotism through folk music and dance. The performances highlighted the rich cultural heritage and composite culture of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Senior officials, including Additional Director General of Police Anand Jain, DIG Jammu Samba Kathua, Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation, the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, and other heads of departments, were in attendance, along with senior civil and police officers, ensuring the smooth execution of the rehearsal.
The full dress rehearsal was a precursor to the official Independence Day celebrations, ensuring that all preparations are in place for a grand and patriotic observance of the nation’s 78th Independence Day.
