Jammu: In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, the Director General of Police, Shri R.R. Swain, IPS, inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Cyber Police Station at Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu. The ceremony marked a crucial step in the state’s efforts to combat the increasing threats of cybercrime.

Operational Briefing and Strategic Plans

SP Cyber/Police Component, Shri Kameshwar Puri, JKPS, welcomed the senior officers and provided a detailed briefing on the operations of the Cyber Police Station, Jammu. The briefing underscored the station’s capabilities and readiness to address various cyber threats.

DIG JSK Range, Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS, elaborated on the latest initiatives to improve the handling of cybercrime. He announced plans to establish cyber units at each police station level, ensuring that every station has the resources and expertise to tackle cyber issues effectively.

District-Wide Cyber Cells Initiative

ADGP Jammu Zone, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, emphasized the creation of cyber cells in each district. This initiative includes extensive training programs for nominated staff, equipping them with the necessary skills to manage different types of cybercrimes. The goal is to provide support to victims of cyber fraud, especially in remote areas, thereby extending the reach and capabilities of the police force in handling cybercrime across the region.
