Srinagar: In a solemn ceremony held at Chinar Corps Headquarters, the Chinar Corps Commander, Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, other dignitaries, and all ranks of the Indian Army paid tribute to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar, who laid down their lives in an encounter in Kulgam on July 6, 2024.

The event began with a wreath-laying ceremony, where senior officials and dignitaries honored the brave soldiers. The Chinar Corps Commander emphasized the valor and dedication of the soldiers, highlighting their ultimate sacrifice for the nation. The Chief Secretary and DGP J&K also expressed their condolences and support to the bereaved families.

The Encounter:

On July 6, 2024, an intense encounter took place in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir. Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar were part of an operation against militants in the region.
