JAMMU :In a solemn and heroic moment, Head Constable (HC) Bashir Ahmed of Kathua Police, a resident of Channi Himmat, laid down his life in the line of duty while combating terrorists in the Dannu Parole area of Billawar, Kathua district. The encounter unfolded in the early hours today when a heavily armed terrorist group was traced to a hideout in the region. Leading from the front, HC Bashir Ahmed positioned himself just 100 meters away from the target house and, with unparalleled courage and determination, opened fire from his Light Machine Gun (LMG), thereby neutralizing the terrorist commander in a close-quarters engagement.

His valor and tactical precision were instrumental in preventing a major terrorist threat, safeguarding the lives of his fellow officers, and securing the region. The entire nation today stands united in mourning the loss of this brave son of the soil, who upheld the highest traditions of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. HC Bashir Ahmed’s fearless sacrifice has once again showcased that the J&K Police is among the finest in the country, embodying a spirit of service and unflinching bravery.
