“Choudhary Lal Singh Roars in Udhampur”Sets Stage for Electrifying Contest.
In a fiery rally that reverberated through the heart of Udhampur, Choudhary Lal Singh stormed into the electoral arena, promising a showdown unlike any other. The unexpected entry of Singh, known for his bold and daring style, promises to shake up the Lok Sabha constituency, setting the stage for an intriguing battle.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resounding “Vijay Shankhnad” still echoing, Singh wasted no time in capturing the spotlight. Addressing a mammoth crowd, he ignited fervor among the public, particularly resonating with the youth of Udhampur. Singh’s rallying cry of “Jai Mata Di” echoed across the venue, symbolizing his deep-rooted connection with the cultural ethos of the region.
Amid the festive spirit on the eve of Eid, Singh extended warm greetings to the Muslim community, showcasing a message of unity and inclusion. However, Singh’s address was not without pointed criticisms directed at incumbent MP Dr. Jitendra Singh. Singh lambasted Jitendra Singh over alleged mismanagement of funds in the Devika project, accusing him of disrespecting the sacred Devika river—a sentiment that struck a chord with the emotionally charged audience.
Singh’s emotive rhetoric resonated deeply, as he accused Jitendra Singh of neglecting the people’s concerns by highlighting his own extensive 180-200 km journey by foot across Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar, Bani, and Billawar. “Jitendra Singh never traveled 10 km in 10 years to address people’s woes,” Singh asserted, drawing sharp contrasts between his own grassroots approach and the perceived aloofness of the incumbent. He passionately exclaimed, “Devika de paise khadhe, Mata Devi gi luttyea,” highlighting financial mismanagement in the region. Singh didn’t shy away from religious sentiments, accusing the BJP of playing with emotions for votes. His campaign tactics were emotional, appealing to the masses.
He acknowledged the support of alliance partners like the NC, PDP, and Panther Party, showing gratitude for their backing during the campaign.
The rally, graced by prominent Congress figures including Raj Babbar and Bharat Singh Solanki, witnessed a surge of enthusiasm among attendees. Singh urged supporters to “press the Congress button, number 4,” vowing to deliver a resounding victory for democracy and the people of Udhampur.
In a show-stopping conclusion, Singh reiterated key promises from the Congress manifesto, outlining a vision that includes legal guarantees to Minimum Support Prices (MSP), immediate restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, and the scrapping of the contentious Agnipath scheme. Singh also pledged to introduce cashless health insurance up to Rs 25 lakhs, mirroring the successful Rajasthan model, and to implement a national minimum wage of Rs 400 per day.
Furthermore, Singh advocated for a constitutional amendment to raise the 50% cap on reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities, reflecting his commitment to social justice.
Choudhary Lal Singh’s rally in Udhampur was not just a political event—it was a seismic moment that left an indelible mark on the electorate, heralding a new chapter in the region’s electoral landscape. With passions ignited and battle lines drawn, Udhampur braces for an electrifying contest that promises to capture the imagination of voters across the constituency.
