Archery event hosted at Girls Hostel Doda.
DODA, MAY 29: The 2nd J&K (I) COY NCC Bhaderwah, in collaboration with District Administration Doda on Wednesday inaugurated an archery event here at Girls Hostel, Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Doda, marking a significant step towards promoting the sport among young students.
The event was graced by Brigadier PS Cheema, (VSM SM) accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, Colonel NCC J&K M.K Sharma, and DYSSO Sunil Kumar.
The inauguration ceremony showcased the commitment to introducing archery as a vital sport in the region.
Brigadier PS Cheema and Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh emphasized the magnificence of archery as a sport which enhances concentration, precision and physical fitness among students. They highlighted how the sport can foster discipline, patience and a sense of achievement. The introduction of archery at the Girls Hostel aims to encourage more students to participate in sports, promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Following the inauguration, Brigadier Cheema and DC Doda interacted with the students, sharing words of encouragement and motivation. They discussed the benefits of engaging in sports and how it can positively impact their academic and personal lives.
As a gesture of community support, Brigadier PS Cheema and Deputy Commissioner gave away clothes to the students, reinforcing the importance of care and solidarity within the community.
