Ambassador of Czech Republic Engages with J&K Business Leaders to Enhance Economic Cooperation.

Srinagar : The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Dr. Eliska Zigova, held a productive interaction with prominent trade and industry leaders of Jammu and Kashmir at the Government Arts Emporium. Accompanied by Third Secretary Adam Padhola and Honorary Consul at Chandigarh, Guneet Chaudhary, Dr. Zigova discussed measures for economic cooperation and enhancing trade relations between the Czech Republic and J&K.
The meeting, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO), was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department J&K, Vikramjit Singh; MD JKTPO; General Manager JKTPO; and other senior officials. It brought together key stakeholders, including industrial associations, trade bodies, exporters, entrepreneurs, and hoteliers from the region.
Prominent business leaders and young entrepreneurs such as Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, President of the Hoteliers’ Club; Javed Ahmad Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Shahid Kamli, President of FCIK; Afaq Qadri, President of Textile Park, Zakura; and others participated, expressing their views on the business environment.
Ambassador Dr. Eliska Zigova expressed her enthusiasm for the economic potential, scenic beauty, and cultural richness of Kashmir. She emphasized the importance of such interactions in deepening mutual understanding and forging beneficial partnerships. She highlighted the strengths of the Czech Republic in fields such as automobiles, machinery, tourism, food technology, and horticulture, and expressed interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation in these areas.
Commissioner Secretary Vikramjit Singh outlined the opportunities available in health spas, technology, tourism, handicrafts, and food processing sectors. He also explained various aspects of the NCSS package, J&K FDI Policy, and J&K Industrial Policy, and other industry-friendly measures initiated by the J&K Government to develop the industrial landscape.
Khalid Jahangir extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador and her delegation on behalf of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering meaningful collaborations and promoting J&K as an investment and trade destination.
An exhibition curated by JKTPO showcased unique products of J&K, highlighting the region’s cultural diversity and craftsmanship. The exhibition offered the Ambassador and her delegation insights into local artisanal traditions and potential export products.
Ambassador Zigova’s three-day visit to Kashmir aims to strengthen bilateral ties and explore economic collaboration opportunities. This visit marks a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in various sectors.
