Advisor Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal Chairs Meeting with team NITI Aayog
Leh, July 11, 2024: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal assembled a meeting with the delegation of NITI Aayog headed by Major General K. Narayanan (Retd.) AVSM,SM and Programme Director of the Law & Security, at the Civil Secretariat Leh.
The meeting focused on the various expertise of NITI Aayog in the fields of School Education, Industry & Commerce, Planning Development & Monitoring, Animal, Sheep & Fisheries, and Agriculture Sector in the Union Territory of Ladakh
At the outset of the meeting, a thorough PowerPoint presentation was given by the NITI Aayog team on the Ladakh Innovation Mission, India Innovation Ecosystem: Infrastructure, An Atal Tinkering Lab providing activity-based learning in the identified schools across the country where young minds can give shape to their ideas for societal problems. The purpose of the initiative is to help Ladakh build on its existing strengths and develop new sectors of the economy by integrating innovation at four levels i.e. Organization, Knowledge, Personal, and Ecosystem. The deliberations emphasized accelerating Ladakh’s Atal Innovation Mission and developing a robust innovation ecosystem with NITI Aayog as a Knowledge Partner.
The meeting also deliberated and discussed on State Support Missions, aimed at fostering structured and institutionalized engagement and its primary objective in achieving the socio-economic goals by 2047 with NITI Aayog as a knowledge partner

The meeting discussed on State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP), on finished goods and services produced during a year, within the geographical boundaries of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Advisor Ladakh directed the planning department to develop the strategy in view of the vision documents, making it reliable and realistic to establish a NITI Aayog Cell at the UT Ladakh level.

Narayanan (Retd.); Director of School Education Department,Tsering Paldan;Director of Horticulture Departments,Tsewang Phuntsog; Deputy Director of Planning & Monitoring Department, Tsering Angdus; Chief Agriculture Officer/ Nodal officer of Agriculture Department,Thinles Dawa; Team members from NITI Ayog; and concerned officials.
