ADGP Jammu Zone Reviews Security Arrangements for Forthcoming Yatras in Jammu Province.

Jammu:The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, conducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra, Mela Khir Bhawani Yatra, and Shri Machail Mata Yatra – 2024. The review meeting was held at the Police Control Room in Jammu this evening.
The meeting saw the participation of Deputy Inspectors General (DIsG) of DKR, UR Range, RP Range, and district Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Jammu Zone through video conferencing. Additionally, DIG JSK Range, SSP Jammu, and SSP PCR Jammu attended the meeting in person.

Accommodation and Facilities:
Detailed discussions were held to ensure robust security arrangements and adequate facilities for pilgrims.
Focus was placed on the Yatri Niwas in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, and other lodging centers.
The establishment of joint Control Rooms was stressed for better coordination between all agencies, aiming for the smooth conduct of the yatras.
Transport Plans:
The ADGP reviewed transport plans to ensure the safe and hassle-free movement of yatris on the national highway.
Emphasis was placed on minimizing disruptions and ensuring smooth traffic flow during the yatras.
Deployment of CAPF Manpower:
Discussions included the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) manpower provided by PHQ for SANJY-2024.
Plans were made for their distribution across the five districts of Jammu province and PCR Jammu.
Deployment strategies were finalized to meet any contingencies in the districts of Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi.
Quick Reaction Teams and Road Opening Parties:
Strong Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and Road Opening Parties (ROPs) will be deployed to ensure security and prompt response to any incidents.
Foolproof arrangements are being put in place at reception centers, langars (community kitchens), and assistance booths to aid pilgrims.
Resource Optimization:
The ADGP directed all district SSPs to ensure the optimum use of available resources.
Focus on facilitating the smooth conduct of the yatras was emphasized, ensuring safety and comfort for all pilgrims.
The meeting concluded with the ADGP instructing all involved officials to maintain high levels of vigilance and coordination. The aim is to provide a secure and seamless experience for all pilgrims participating in the various yatras.
