ADGP Jammu Zone Reviews Border Management and Security Preparedness Ahead of Republic Day 2025
Late-Night Inspection Covers Samba and Kathua Districts to Ensure Seamless Security for VVIP Visit and National Celebrations

Jammu : In anticipation of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations and an imminent VVIP visit, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Shri Anand Jain (IPS), conducted a comprehensive late-night review of the border management and security arrangements in the sensitive districts of Samba and Kathua. Accompanied by DIG JSK Range Shri Shiv Kumar (IPS), SSP Kathua Shri Shobit Saxena (IPS), SSP Samba Shri Virender Manhas, and other senior officers, the review was carried out in the intervening night of January 12-13, 2025.
Focus on Peace and Security:
ADGP Anand Jain emphasized maintaining peace and security across the region, particularly in light of Republic Day 2025 and the VVIP visit. He directed all officers to remain vigilant, proactive, and prepared to address any challenges to ensure that celebrations proceed in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
Enhanced Deployment and Vigilance:
• The ADGP reviewed deployment plans and ordered the mobilization of additional forces in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incidents.
• Intelligence gathering and inter-agency coordination were highlighted as critical elements to counter potential security threats.
• Security checks and patrolling were intensified, with joint operations by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Police at key checkpoints such as Sherpur Nala, Babbar Nala, Mawa, and Nandpur.
Ground-Level Assessment and Morale Boosting: During the inspection, the ADGP assessed the on-ground performance of officers and personnel, commending their efforts while encouraging them to maintain high morale. He stressed visibility and active engagement within their jurisdictions to reassure the public and deter any threats.
Community Engagement and Trust-Building:
Acknowledging the importance of public cooperation, the ADGP called for robust community engagement efforts. DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar (IPS) emphasized fostering trust between law enforcement and local communities to ensure collaborative efforts in maintaining law and order.
