ADGP Jammu Reviews Security Arrangements for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024.

Jammu : Shri Anand Jain, IPS, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the Jammu Zone, conducted an extensive review of the security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024. Accompanied by senior police officials including DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range Shri Shridhar Patil, IPS, DIG Traffic Jammu Dr. Haseeb Mughal, IPS, SSP Ramban Shri Anuj Kumar, IPS, SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban Shri Rohit Baskotra, JKPS, and Additional SP Ramban Shri Gourav Mahajan, JKPS, the ADGP visited critical locations along the route such as Jawahar Tunnel, Chanderkote Yatri Niwas, and other pivotal points.
Key Inspection Points and Directives:
1.Highway and Sensitive Points:
Inspections were carried out on the Highway, at Langers, Lodgment centers, and nakas.
On-the-spot directions were given to enhance vigilance, particularly at sensitive points.
Emphasis was placed on maintaining a high level of security to counter potential threats from Anti-National Elements (ANEs).
2.Logistics and Personnel Welfare:
ADGP Jain interacted with police officers to assess the logistics support provided to deployed personnel.
Instructions were given to ensure a coordinated and people-friendly approach, enhancing the comfort and security of pilgrims.
The welfare of the Jawans was prioritized, with directives to provide necessary assistance to Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF).
3.Emergency Preparedness:
UTDRF personnel were instructed to remain vigilant and responsive to emergencies, ensuring prompt rescue operations in case of any mishaps.
4.Security Infrastructure:
The functionality of CCTV cameras, morchas, the communication network, and transport arrangements for Security Forces (SFs) were thoroughly checked.
Speaking to the media, ADGP Anand Jain highlighted the measures being implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He assured that cut-off timings would be strictly adhered to, facilitating the seamless movement of pilgrims to and from Jammu and Kashmir. Additional police and traffic personnel will be deployed to manage roads under construction, ensuring the Yatra proceeds without disruption.
