ADGP CID Highlights Rehabilitation Initiatives at Drug De-addiction Centre in Jammu

Jammu : In a significant move aimed at fostering rehabilitation and empowerment, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) CID, Shri Nitish Kumar, IPS, presided over the valedictory function of the “Fast Food Stall Udyami”training program at the Police Drug De-addiction Centre in Jammu. This program, designed to provide vocational training in fast food preparation and small business management, is part of a broader initiative to rehabilitate individuals recovering from substance abuse and help them reintegrate into society.
Addressing the attendees, the ADGP emphasized the transformative potential of vocational training in the recovery process. He expressed hope that the skills acquired through this initiative would enable the participants to lead self-reliant and productive lives while steering clear of drugs. “Rehabilitation is not just about overcoming addiction; it is about rebuilding lives with dignity and purpose,” he remarked, encouraging participants to contribute positively to their communities.
Adding a technological edge to the Centre’s operations, the ADGP also inaugurated a state-of-the-art Patient Management and Information System (MIS). This comprehensive system aims to streamline data management, enhance patient care, and enable efficient monitoring of progress. Key features of the MIS include:
Patient Record Management:A centralized system for maintaining detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress reports.
Inventory Management:Efficient tracking of medical supplies and equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Real-Time Monitoring:A user-friendly dashboard to track patient activities and recovery milestones.
Speaking about the initiative, Shri Nitish Kumar highlighted the significance of leveraging technology in addressing social challenges such as drug addiction. “This MIS is a step forward in our mission to provide comprehensive care and support for individuals battling addiction. It symbolizes our commitment to using technology for better governance and public welfare,” he stated.
The event featured a live demonstration of the MIS, followed by an interactive session with the ADGP CID, who lauded the dedication of the Centre’s team. He encouraged them to continue their efforts towards creating a healthier and more inclusive society.
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Shri Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Jammu Zone; Sh. Irshad Hussain Rather, SP Headquarters Jammu; Sh. Vikram Jeet Singh, Director Rural Self Employment Training Institute; Smt. Shagun Manchanda, District Mission Coordinator of Mission Shakti, Social Welfare Department; Dr. Shehnaaz Bhat, Director of the De-addiction Centre; and Sh. Sheezan Bhat, SDPO City East.
