JAMMU : In a significant review of security preparedness and personnel welfare, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, visited the IRP 16th Battalion headquarters at Pernote, Ramban. His visit was aimed at assessing the battalion’s operational capabilities, addressing service-related concerns, and enhancing welfare measures.
Homage to Martyrs: A Solemn Beginning
Before reaching the battalion headquarters, ADGP Jain paid floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial in Batote, Ramban, in honor of Martyr CT. Sarfraz Ahmad, who laid down his life in Srinagar on 15th August 2022. The gesture reaffirmed the commitment of the J&K Police to remembering and respecting the sacrifices of its personnel.
Guard of Honour & Formal Reception:
On arrival at the battalion headquarters, ADGP Jain was received with a ceremonial Guard of Honour, symbolizing the discipline and dedication of the force. He was accompanied by senior officers, including:

In an interactive session with personnel during a special Darbar, officers and jawans voiced service-related concerns, including infrastructure requirements, promotions, and welfare schemes. ADGP Jain assured them of immediate action and emphasized the department’s commitment to their well-being.

A New Gym Centre – Promoting physical fitness among personnel

MI Room (Medical Inspection Room) – Ensuring timely medical care for jawans
He also stressed the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, and environmental responsibility, launching a plantation drive within the battalion premises.
