Khaltsi, August 28, 2024: Agriculture Department organized a one-day Krishi Mela cum vegetable and flower exhibition at Block head quarter Khaltsi today on August 28. The exhibition was inaugurated by Executive Councillor for Agriculture Stanzin Chosphel, and Councillor Khaltsi constituency Lobzang Sherab. Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel was the Chief Guest for the event.

Other notable guest present were Chief Agriculture Officer Thinley Dawa, District Agriculture Officer Tashi Dolma, Naib Tehsildar Mohd Yousuf and all Head of Departments (HODs) from the Khaltsi Subdivision, as well as participants from the region.

During the event, the Chief Guest visited various stalls showcasing local agricultural products and flowers. He extended his congratulations to the people of Sham for the recent recognition of Sham region as a District. He also expressed his appreciation for the successful organization of the exhibition. He particularly commended Councillor Lobzang Sherab for transforming the barren land of Alchi Thang into a green oasis using drip irrigation, encouraging others to follow this example.

The event concluded with prize distribution ceremony to those who excelled in the vegetable and flower exhibition.
