Leh, June 21, 2024: The State Medicinal Plant Board of UT Ladakh celebrated International Yoga Day at Wari-La, located at an elevation of 17,276 feet above mean sea level today on June 21.
The event, themed ‘Yoga for Self and Society / स्वयं और समाज के लिए योग’ emphasized the profound benefits of yoga for personal well-being and societal harmony.
Wari La, known for its rich diversity of medicinal and aromatic plants in the Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh, was chosen to emphasize its significance in the AYUSH system of medicine.
The event was attended by staff members from Director Health Services, State Medicinal Plant Board, and National AYUSH Mission. Dr. Motup Dorje, Director Health Services/ AYUSH/MD NHM/CEO of the State Medicinal Plant Board of the Union Territory of Ladakh graced the occasion, adding further significance to the celebration.
