Jammu : In a stern and resolute message, Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain made it clear that those aiding terrorists in any capacity would face severe consequences. The DGP emphasized that the security apparatus, in concert with other agencies, is fully prepared to confront the latest security threats from across the border.
Speaking to the media following a security review meeting in Reasi district, DGP Swain addressed the recent surge in terror attacks in the Jammu region, including a notable incident in Katra. He underscored that the security forces, in perfect coordination, are marshaling all available resources to counteract the challenges posed by foreign mercenaries infiltrated by Pakistan.
“Pakistan, struggling to recruit locally, is now sending its operatives with a clear intent to disrupt peace here. However, our resolve is unwavering. We are committed to eliminating every single terrorist sent across the border,” asserted DGP Swain.
Determination Against Foreign Mercenaries…
In his interaction with the media, the DGP reiterated that the eradication of terrorists is inevitable. “These terrorists will be killed, sooner or later. They have no roots here, no families, no stakes. Whether they are being recruited from jails or elsewhere, their fate is sealed,” Swain stated firmly.
He highlighted the stark contrast between the foreign mercenaries and the local supporters who, unlike the terrorists, have significant stakes in the region. “Those few locals who are aiding these terrorists, whether by providing logistical support or other means, will regret their actions profoundly. They have families, land, properties, and jobs here. If they engage in anti-national activities, they will pay a heavy price,” warned the DGP.
Broad Support and Vigilance…
The security review meeting chaired by the DGP in Reasi was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, and SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma. The discussions focused on enhancing the security measures and ensuring a robust response to any further attempts at destabilization.
Swain’s statements come at a crucial time, reflecting the heightened vigilance and proactive stance of the security forces in the region. His message is a clear signal to both adversaries and their local collaborators that the authorities are prepared to act decisively to protect the peace and stability of Jammu and Kashmir.
A Clear and Strong Warning…
The DGP’s remarks are a stark reminder of the serious repercussions for those involved in supporting terrorism. By explicitly outlining the consequences, Swain has set a clear boundary for potential sympathizers and supporters of foreign mercenaries. His assertive stance is intended to deter any local participation in terrorist activities and to reassure the public of the security forces’ commitment to maintaining law and order.
As the region faces these ongoing challenges, the message from DGP Swain serves both as a warning to enemies and as a reassurance to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir that their safety remains the top priority for the security forces.
