Kathua: Reaffirming the Modi administration’s unwavering commitment to dismantle the terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister of State with Independent Charge of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh, declared today that terrorists, under immense pressure from security forces in the Kashmir valley, are now attempting to shift their activities to the Jammu region. However, he assured that their plans will be decisively thwarted.
Dr. Singh visited the towns of Kathua and Hiranagar today to evaluate the security situation and to check on Om Prakash, a civilian injured in recent terrorist attacks, who is currently receiving treatment at the Government Medical College (GMC) in Kathua. Addressing the media after visiting Om Prakash, who successfully underwent orthopedic surgery, Dr. Singh reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. “As the Prime Minister has said, there is ‘Zero Tolerance’ towards terrorism. Further actions will be decided following this principle,” Dr. Singh stated emphatically.
The Union Minister strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks, acknowledging the concern and anger they have sparked among the populace. He praised the security forces for their swift and effective response in neutralizing the terrorists in Kathua and for launching a comprehensive search operation in Chattargalla, Doda district. “The joint operation is progressing very well,” Dr. Singh noted, commending the coordination and bravery of the security personnel involved.
Dr. Singh emphasized that measures to revive and enhance Village Defence Committees (VDCs) are underway, ensuring these posts are established wherever necessary to bolster security. During his visit to Mela village in Hiranagar, where he met the bereaved family of Amarjeet Sharma, a victim of the recent violence, Dr. Singh assured them of substantial relief and assistance beyond standard expectations. He pledged that the BJP supporters and his entire team would take on the responsibility of supporting the deceased’s family, ensuring the children’s education and proposing employment opportunities for trained family members, such as a nursing job.
In his remarks, Dr. Singh also lauded the medical staff at GMC Kathua for their prompt and successful orthopedic surgery on Om Prakash’s left humerus, confirming that the patient is now out of danger. Additionally, he paid tribute to CRPF braveheart Kabir Das, who sacrificed his life during the encounter with terrorists in Hiranagar, honoring his valor and dedication.
Dr. Jitendra Singh’s visit underscores the Modi government’s resolute stance against terrorism and its comprehensive approach to addressing both security and civilian welfare in the face of such threats. The administration’s multi-faceted strategy involves not only neutralizing immediate dangers but also providing substantial support to affected families, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to stability and peace in the region.
