In a resolute demonstration of zero tolerance towards crime, SSP Samba Vinay Sharma has once again proven his commitment to maintaining law and order in District Samba. The Samba police team, led by the diligent SHO Vijaypur Zaheer Mushtaq, has been instrumental in effectively curbing criminal activities in Vijaypur, a testament to the fruitful outcomes of a recent review meeting conducted by ADGP Anand Jain.

The crackdown on the notorious Gataru Gang continues with another significant arrest. On May 11, the police apprehended the gang’s kingpin, Sumit Jandyal, alias Gataru, and his brother Sourav Gupta. Today, adding to this success, another key member of the gang, Rohit Baloria, has been booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).

Baloria, a resident of Vijaypur Tehsil in Samba District, has been a recurring figure in numerous criminal cases filed at Police Stations in Bishnah, Vijaypur, and Ramgarh. His involvement in these activities has been a persistent threat to public peace and tranquility.

“Baloria’s continuous engagement in criminal activities necessitated stringent action. A detailed dossier prepared by SSP Samba highlighted his extensive criminal record, prompting the District Magistrate Samba to issue a detention order under the PSA,” a police official stated.

The arrest warrant for Baloria was meticulously executed today by a team from Police Station Vijaypur, led by the vigilant Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq. This operation culminated in Baloria’s detention at District Jail Kathua, thereby neutralizing another significant threat from the Gataru Gang.

The recent review meeting chaired by ADGP Anand Jain has evidently borne fruit, as evidenced by the swift and effective actions taken against the Gataru Gang. The collaborative efforts of the police force, guided by the strategic leadership of SSP Samba Vinay Sharma, continue to safeguard the residents of Samba District.
