DC Sham Visits Garkone, Darchiks and Dha; Reviews Basic Amenities and Developmental Works.
Khaltse, August 29, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today conducted an extensive visit to the villages of Garkone, Darchiks and Dha to assess the availability of basic amenities, review developmental works and interact with the local residents. She was accompanied by SDM Khaltse, Shri Mohd Sharif, and Naib Tehsildar Skurbuchan, Shri Abdul Samad.
During her visit to Garkone, the Deputy Commissioner was accorded a warm welcome by Hon’ble Nominated Councillor of Aryan Valley, Shri Rigzin Gurmeet, Inspector RDD, the concerned Patwari, Nambardars of Garkone and Darchiks, and local residents. The Incharge, Police Post Darchiks, was also present.
At Garkone and Darchiks, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the residents and enquired about the availability and status of basic amenities in all inhabited hamlets of the villages. She also took stock of the issues being faced by the people and reviewed the progress of various ongoing developmental activities.
At Garkone, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Primary School, Medical Sub-Centre and Anganwadi Centres and assessed the facilities and services available to the local population.
At Darchiks, she inspected the recently upgraded Government High School, the newly constructed Solid Waste Management Resource Centre (SWMRC), and 83 kanals of land under the Horticulture Department. She directed the concerned officers and officials to ensure timely completion of ongoing works and maintain the prescribed standards and quality in all developmental projects.
During the visit, residents of Garkone and Darchiks submitted memoranda highlighting various demands and developmental issues. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to their concerns and assured them that their genuine demands would be examined and considered on the basis of need, priority and urgency.
Later, at Dha, the Lambardar briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the various hamlets of the village and apprised her of the ongoing and proposed developmental projects.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of developmental schemes, timely completion of developmental works and prompt resolution of public grievances.
She reiterated that regular field visits and direct interaction with the public are essential for understanding ground-level issues and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes and developmental initiatives reach the people effectively.
