Grand Science Exhibition for PM SHRI Schools Held in Leh District
Leh, May 30, 2026: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, organized a Grand Science Exhibition for PM SHRI Schools of Leh District on May 30, 2026, providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and scientific temperament.
The event witnessed the participation of students, teachers, principals, judges, and dignitaries from across the district. Scientist Sh. Stanzin Norla from the Baba Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Hanle, attended the exhibition and encouraged students to pursue science with curiosity, dedication, and passion.
The programme commenced with the traditional presentation of khataks, followed by a welcome address and keynote remarks by the guests. Students from various PM SHRI schools displayed innovative science models and experiments on diverse themes, highlighting their imagination, inquiry, and practical application of scientific concepts. The young participants confidently explained their projects before the judges and visitors, reflecting both creativity and critical thinking.
Following a detailed evaluation, the winners were announced in different categories. In the Primary School Category, PM SHRI Primary School Spituk secured the First Prize. In the Middle School Category, PM SHRI Middle School Nimoo won the Third Prize, PM SHRI Middle School Taknak secured the Second Prize, and PM SHRI Middle School Takmachik claimed the First Prize. In the High School Category, PM SHRI High School Wanla secured the Third Prize, PM SHRI High School Skalzangling won the Second Prize, and PM SHRI High School Anlay was awarded the First Prize.
A special Consolation and Appreciation Prize was also presented to the students of Government Higher Secondary School Chuchot Yokma in recognition of their commendable efforts and to promote inclusivity in education.
Mementos were presented to the judges as a token of gratitude for their valuable contribution and guidance. The judging panel comprised Ms. Sonam Dolkar, Principal, HSS Saspol (Head Judge); Mr. Sandeep Singh Pathania, PGT Physics, JNV Leh; Mr. Vinay Abrol, PGT Biology, JNV Leh; Mr. Dorjay Wangchuk, Senior Lecturer, Computer Science, DIET Leh; and Ms. Tsering Chorol, Lecturer, GHSS Khaltse.
The winners were felicitated for their outstanding achievements, while all participants were appreciated for their enthusiasm, dedication, and innovative spirit. The organizers expressed their gratitude to Principal DIET Leh, Mr. Mirza Mehdi, Ms. Tsering Yangdol (HOD), Ms. Sonam Lhamo (HOD), and the entire organizing committee of DIET Leh for their constant support and meticulous planning that ensured the successful conduct of the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The exhibition served not only as a celebration of science but also as a platform to promote curiosity, creativity, inclusivity, and innovation among students. The event highlighted that science extends beyond textbooks and thrives through exploration, experimentation, and discovery, inspiring young minds to contribute towards a sustainable and progressive future.
