DC Sham inspects CHC, Market and Segregation Centre at Khaltse.
Khaltse, May 13, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today visited the Community Health Centre (CHC), Khaltse, to assess the healthcare services and facilities being provided to the public. She was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khaltse, Mohd Sharif, and was received by Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr. Jawad Ahmad, along with doctors and paramedical staff.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various sections of the Hospital, including the kitchen, and enquired about the maintenance of hygiene and sanitation. She also interacted with patients and Hospital staff to obtain feedback regarding the quality of healthcare services being provided at the Hospital.
The BMO apprised the Deputy Commissioner of several issues being faced by the Hospital, including shortages of doctors, drivers, and paramedical staff. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
The Hospital staff also briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the mechanism adopted for the proper disposal of biomedical and other waste materials. Subsequently, she inspected the waste disposal site located within the Hospital premises.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed the BMO to coordinate with the CPWD authorities and submit a report regarding the handing over and taking over of the newly completed structure. She also sought details regarding the ongoing works being executed by the agency.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner, joined by Lambardar of Khaltse, President, Merchant Association Khaltse, and Vice President LBA Youth Wing Sham, inspected the Khaltse market area and reviewed issues related to traffic management and parking.
During the inspection, the following observations were made:
The need for acquisition of a patch of land near Khaltse Bridge for streamlining traffic regulation.
To address roadside parking congestion, the Deputy Commissioner assured that a detailed meeting would be convened with all stakeholders, including Khaltse Police.
The SDM and Lambardar identified certain locations suitable for parking facilities and apprised the Deputy Commissioner accordingly.
At the segregation centre, labours engaged in garbage disposal informed the Deputy Commissioner that services had been halted due to non-release of their pending dues. The matter was resolved on the spot, and the concerned authorities were directed to clear the issue and ensure resumption of garbage collection services from the following day.
The Lambardar also briefed the Deputy Commissioner regarding the ongoing water lifting irrigation scheme at Patsathang. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner stated that a meeting with the concerned engineers and stakeholders would be convened shortly to review the matter.
