Directors of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries and Sheep Husbandry inspect key farms in Leh District.
Dr. Mohammad Ismail Director Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Union Territory of Ladakh, conducted a detailed inspection of the fish farms at Sindhu, Shey, and Chochut in Leh district to review their functioning and overall progress.
During the visit, the Director was accompanied by Dr. Iftiqar Hussain, Director Sheep Husbandry, UT Ladakh and Assistant Director Fisheries Leh. The Director assessed on going activities, production, infrastructure facilities, and management practices at each of the fish farms.
Expressing satisfaction over the effective functioning of the farms the Director commended the staff for their efforts in maintaining the farms and urged the farm in-charges to maintain the farm records meticulously, including live-stock registers, production and feed registers. He emphasized that accurate and updated record-keeping is essential for ensuring transparency, monitoring performance effectively.
Later in the evening Dr. Iftiqar Hussain Director Sheep Husband took stock of the Merino Sheep Farm at Matho, where he reviewed the ongoing works and infrastructure facilities at the farm.
The joint inspections concluded with interactions with the field functionaries, where both Directors assured continued support from the Department for further strengthening the livestock and fisheries sectors in Leh district.
