“Leh’s Army & Animal Husbandry Team Up to Sterilize 256 Stray Dogs in 6 Days!”
Leh, July 28, 2025 – As part of the Month of Compassion, the ABC&AR (Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies) program team of the Animal Husbandry Department, Leh, successfully conducted a six-day Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies Camp in army areas of Nimo village.
The program held from July 18 to July 24, 2025, the camp saw the sterilization and vaccination against rabies of 256 stray dogs (173 male & 83 female), contributing to the control of the stray dog population and the prevention of rabies in the region. This six day camp across military stations was carried out in collaboration with the Army.
