DC Leh Directs Education Department to Ensure Proper Monitoring of Projects for Timely Completion; Stresses on Providing Quality Education in Government Schools.
Leh, Feb 13, 2025: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Leh chaired a comprehensive meeting today to review the progress of the Samagra Shiksha scheme and discuss spillover works. The meeting, held in the DC’s office chamber, began with a detailed presentation on the various components of the Samagra Shiksha scheme, including social access and retention, RTE entitlements, quality interventions, gender equity, inclusive education, vocational training, teacher education, sports and physical education, and program management.
The discussion also focused on the role of the State Implementation Society in ensuring the effective execution of the scheme, along with updates from the Project Approval Board for Samagra Shiksha Ladakh. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing the progress of civil works and formulating strategies to address spillover projects for the year 2025.
During the meeting, the DC Leh emphasized the importance of working at the grassroots level to improve the education system in Ladakh. He directed the education department to expedite the completion of pending works and ensure proper monitoring of all ongoing and pending projects for timely completion. The DC also stressed the need for strict action against officials who fail to perform their duties sincerely, underscoring the administration’s commitment to accountability and efficiency.
The DC reiterated that the administration is providing substantial support to strengthen the education infrastructure in the region. He urged all stakeholders to utilize resources effectively and work with dedication to achieve the objectives of the Samagra Shiksha scheme. Additionally, the DC emphasized the importance of providing quality education in government schools to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students.
