DGP J&K Visits Machedi, Badnota, Sadrota, and Dugaini Police Post Amid Anti-Terror Operations
Top Security Officials Review Operational Preparedness in Kathua’s Remote Areas

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Sh. Nalin Prabhat, IPS, undertook a crucial visit to the far-flung areas of Machedi, Badnota, Sadrota, and Dugaini in Kathua District to assess the ongoing anti-terror operations and review the security situation. The visit comes in the wake of heightened terrorist activity in the region, necessitating enhanced coordination among security forces.
Briefing on Counter-Terror Operations:
During the visit, ADGP Jammu Zone, Sh. Anand Jain, IPS, briefed the DGP on the progress of anti-terrorist operations being conducted in the Machedi-Badnota-Sadrota belt. The security forces have been on high alert following intelligence inputs regarding terrorist presence in these remote forested areas.

Operational Preparedness and Coordination Among Forces:
The Army and CRPF officers presented a detailed operational briefing to the DGP, outlining their counter-insurgency strategies, area dominance measures, and coordination mechanisms to neutralize terrorist threats. Special focus was laid on intelligence gathering, joint operations, and surveillance in the difficult terrain of Kathua’s border belt.
DGP’s Address to Security Forces:
Interacting with jawans and officers of the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kathua-Billawar, Army, and CRPF, DGP Nalin Prabhat emphasized the need for:
• Inter-agency coordination to ensure seamless operations.
• Proactive intelligence gathering to track and eliminate terrorist movements.
• Strengthening area domination to prevent infiltration and local recruitment.
The DGP directed all forces to maintain high operational alertness and work in a synergized manner to neutralize terrorists sighted in the region. He reiterated the importance of community engagement and public cooperation in counter-insurgency efforts, urging personnel to be vigilant and responsive to emerging threats.
