Jammu:In a major breakthrough, Jammu Police successfully arrested Pankaj Singh alias Panku Raja, a notorious criminal with a long trail of offenses, during a targeted operation in Bishnah. Singh, a resident of Kotli Mian Fateh, Miran Sahib, is a well-known history-sheeter with 12 FIRs registered against him, ranging from violent crimes to drug-related activities. He was recently released after serving detention under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).

The Operation and Seizures:

Acting on credible intelligence inputs, a police team from Police Station Bishnah conducted a decisive raid that led to Singh’s arrest. The operation resulted in the recovery of;

• 25 grams of heroin-like substance, suspected to be part of an organized drug trafficking network.

• A 9mm pistol, highlighting a potential nexus between narcotics and illegal arms trade in the region.

The operation was meticulously planned and executed by Inspector Sushil Choudhary, SHO Bishnah, under the direct supervision of SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad Hussain. This collaborative effort underscores the police’s commitment to proactive law enforcement and dismantling criminal networks.

Ongoing Investigation:

The accused is currently under custody, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. Investigators are focusing on identifying the supply chain for both the narcotics and the illegal firearm.
