Bishnah Police Solve Multiple Theft and Burglary Cases; Recover Stolen Goods Worth Over ₹30 Lakhs

In a major breakthrough, Bishnah Police in Jammu have successfully solved multiple burglary and theft cases, recovering stolen goods, including golden ornaments, worth more than ₹30 lakhs. The swift and efficient operation underscores the commitment of Jammu Police to ensuring public safety and delivering justice.
The investigation began after a burglary was reported on 16 November 2024 by a resident of Bandrali, Bishnah. The complainant, Bindu Rani, filed a report stating that burglars had broken into her home while she attended a religious gathering. Among the stolen items were valuable golden ornaments, including a mangalsutra, bangles, and a chain.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered under FIR No. 192/2024 U/S 331(3)/305-A BNS, and a special investigation team was constituted. The team, led by Inspector Sushil Choudhary (SHO Bishnah), worked under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.
The team, using a combination of local intelligence and technical inputs, identified and apprehended a key suspect, Rohit Chouhan alias Labhu, a resident of Haria Chak, Kathua. Upon sustained interrogation, Rohit revealed himself as the ringleader of a gang responsible for several thefts in Bishnah and nearby areas. He also disclosed the names of two accomplices:
1.Sahil Kumar, S/o Janak Raj, R/o Haria Chak, Kathua
2.Vishal Kumar, S/o Ranbir Raj, R/o Haria Chak, Kathua
Recovered Items and Cases Linked:
The interrogation led to the recovery of stolen items, including golden ornaments, with a combined value of over ₹30 lakhs. The gang admitted to their involvement in several cases registered at Bishnah Police Station:
1.FIR No. 170/2024
2.FIR No. 139/2024
3.FIR No. 122/2024
4.FIR No. 154/2024
Additionally, the gang was linked to a theft case under FIR No. 14/2024 at Miran Sahib Police Station.
Separate Case: Recovery of Stolen Bovines
In an unrelated case under FIR No. 204/2024 (U/S 305 BNS), Bishnah Police recovered six stolen bovines, further highlighting their proactive approach to tackling crime.
