JAMMU: On November 26th the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS), conducted a significant security review of the border areas of Arnia, Bishnah, and R.S. Pura in Jammu district. Accompanied by the SP Headquarters and SDPO R.S. Pura, the visit aimed to strengthen border management and enhance coordination among security agencies in these sensitive zones.
1.Security Inspections and Border Management Coordination:
VDG and Police Engagement: The DIG interacted with Village Defense Guard (VDG) members and police personnel stationed in sensitive areas such as Aik Nallah, Phaghu Nallah, Chakroi, and Sai. He stressed the importance of vigilance in these high-risk zones.
BSF Coordination: Meetings were held with Border Security Force (BSF) officials at critical Border Outposts (BOPs) including Sai Harpal (SH) Way, Suchetgarh, and Bakarpur. These discussions focused on enhanced coordination, intelligence sharing, and establishing joint checkpoints for more effective border surveillance.
2.Visit to Border Police Posts:The DIG inspected the Dewangarh and Hara Pir Checkposts in Sai Kallan and Chakroi, emphasizing the resolution of public grievances in a timely manner.
Police personnel were reminded of the heightened sensitivity of their duties in these areas.
3.Strengthening Security Measures:
The DIG issued directives to fortify checkpoints, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours, to counter potential threats from anti-social and anti-national elements.
Security personnel were instructed to maintain a constant watch for suspicious activities, ensuring a proactive approach to border security.
4.Public Outreach:The general public was urged to cooperate with authorities by providing timely information on any suspicious activities, fostering a collaborative approach to regional security.
