JAMMU: In a stern directive aimed at ensuring the complete eradication of terrorism and its support network, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday urged senior officers to adopt a relentless, synergized approach in their mission to root out the menace. Chairing a high-level meeting comprising senior civil, police officials, and district heads from Jammu Division, Sinha underscored the pivotal role of dismantling the terror ecosystem in shaping a secure and prosperous future for the Union Territory.
“Exemplary action must be taken against those aiding and abetting the terror ecosystem. Wiping out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir will be your greatest contribution, not only to the security aspect to establish peace but also in the development of J&K and its brighter future,” the Lieutenant Governor asserted.
High-Level Meeting for Synergy and Strategy:
The meeting was attended by an array of top officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and Principal Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti. Senior police officials such as ADGP (Law & Order) Vijay Kumar, ADGP (Jammu) Anand Jain, and ADGP (CID) Nitish Kumar also contributed their insights, alongside divisional commissioners, DIGs, DCs, and SSPs of Jammu Division.
Sinha reiterated that the fight against terrorism requires a whole-of-government approach, ensuring coordination among all stakeholders. “With greater synergy and a focused strategy, our priority must remain the complete elimination of terrorism and its supporters,” he said.
Development as a Counterweight to Terrorism:
Stressing the intertwined nature of peace and development, the Lieutenant Governor directed the administration to maintain constant vigilance over ongoing infrastructure projects. “The speedy implementation of developmental initiatives is critical for transforming the socio-economic fabric of Jammu and Kashmir,” he emphasized.
He also outlined the importance of comprehensive public outreach initiatives, urging Deputy Commissioners to ensure the 100% saturation of government schemes. “Monitoring the saturation of beneficiary-oriented schemes must remain our priority. The successful implementation of programmes like the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme and One District One Product can significantly uplift the livelihoods of our citizens,” he noted.
Towards a Terror-Free and Developed Jammu & Kashmir:
The Lieutenant Governor’s message resonated with a dual focus: maintaining stringent security measures while simultaneously advancing development goals. His vision places equal importance on eradicating the roots of terror and cultivating an environment where economic and social development can flourish.
By channeling administrative synergy, emphasizing infrastructure growth, and eliminating the support systems that sustain terror, Sinha’s leadership seeks to pave the way for a future marked by peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. As officials left the meeting with clear directives, the overarching mission was unequivocal: a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir, built on the foundation of development and security.
