Sensational Snatching Case Solved: JKP Arrests Three Hardcore Criminals in Akhnoor; Weapon and Motorcycle Seized

Akhnoor: In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Akhnoor have successfully arrested three hardcore criminals involved in a daring snatching incident, thereby solving a sensational case that had raised concerns about security in the region. The arrested individuals were found to have a history of serious criminal activities. The police also recovered an illegal firearm and other items used in the crime.
The incident took place on September 19, 2024, when Suresh Kumar, a resident of Sungal, Akhnoor, filed a complaint at the Akhnoor Police Station. He reported that three unidentified individuals forcefully snatched approximately ₹1,50,000—the sales amount of a local wine shop—while threatening the salesman with a firearm and physically assaulting him, causing fear of death. Following the complaint, the police registered FIR No. 167/2024under sections 126(2), 115(2), 307, and 3(5)BNSof the Indian Penal Code, and launched an intensive investigation.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Amit Pawa alias Sundi- Son of Late Ashok Kumar, resident of Gigrial Khour, currently residing in Devipur, Tehsil Jourian.
Ashok Singh alias Raja – Son of Devi Singh, resident of Danwal, Tehsil Khour.
Vishal Sharma alias Vishu- Son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Galwade Chak, Tehsil Marh.
During interrogation, all three suspects confessed to their involvement in the robbery. Their statements led to the recovery of the following items used in the commission of the crime:
One illegal firearm (Desi Katta).
One motorcycle (Glamour) bearing registration number JK02AV/9058.
One wooden lathi.
One black-colored bag.
